With all of this rain and flooding authorities were forced to open 18 flood gates of the Conawingo dam on the Sesquahana River. This released tons of trash and debris into the river which flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Trees, telephone poles, tires, tires with wheels, appliances etc. You name and its somewhere in the debris field. This has made mid bay virtually unnavigable. They closed down one of the local beaches today. I field bad for the Waterman that rely on the bay for their livelihood, crabbers, charter captains etc. The summer crabbing season is virtually shot. Here are some pictures from the upper and middle bay areas to include the famous Ego Alley in downtown Annapolis. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Is this the zaftermath of the footage they showed of some of the flooded streets cars floating down the road houses being flooded just a total mess No nothing to do with that. Our area got 9" of rain last week in 4 days. 13+" in July, 9 of which happened in that 4 day period.

Those are charter and private boats anchored trying to chum/fish in that mess.
Ron will appreciate some of those picture locations.

That's a shame. Looks like our area after hurricane Katrina.

That won't go away quickly and I doubt our over-protective government has any plan to clean it up. I've overnighted in Annapolis years back and I remember thinking that the tide goes in and out there, but not enough to get rid of their trash in the water. That's a real mess for them to have to clean up their harbor.
I guess down here in the south Chesapeake Bay we need get ready to keep a better eye on the water to avoid running into any of that mess when it gets down this way. Pretty sure what doesn't sink will be here eventually.

That’s sad. I grew up fishing the bay near the mouth of the Potomac. A lot of trolling hours around the target ship.

Dam Chris, be careful there still has to be a lot of sh!t floating just below the surface. Did they clean much of the garbage or just let it flush onto open waters, what a shame.

Well I just hope they didnt open 17 locks again? 3 or 4 locks is not uncommon, but when they really open it, it sucks!
