Beautiful day on the water but slow for us. Found a nice 18llbdolphin on the troll.

Nice work on the phin. The boat looks great in that blue water.

Thanks guys. It was a pretty slow day but beautiful out and that young man in the sunglasses caught his first offshore pelagic. He was grinning ear to ear. His parents said that experience made his vacation.
This was my first time running out with the autopilot and for the hour and half ride out it made the drive for me so much less exhausting. It was also a great tool to have while trolling esp with an inexperienced crew where I had to play captain and first mate. It also allowed me to freely walk around boat while trolling rather being stuck behind the wheel to keep us on course. One of the better boat accessories I've added.
I also got to make out/track a storm to the north of us using the garmin GXM53 and sirus weather. Otherwise I would have had no idea which way the storm was headed possibly causing me to decide to pack up early.
At the end of the trip me and the other dad decided we were going to jump into the gulf stream waters. Water temp was 85 degrees, cobalt blue and the saltiest water I have ever been in. It was crazy cool.

It's been blowing 20+ knots since Wednesday afternoon! Such is life along the NC coast. I am 2 trips ahead this year over last year. The forecast is showing some promise towards the end of next week so watching that closely.

That’s what I figured. I have been watching the weather over your way. Last year sucked for you, at least you got a couple trips in.

It's always windy in NC, July/Aug is supposed to be one of the least windy periods. Lol

They are crushing the swordfish out of here right now. A 500+lbr was landed last week.
