I got 4 of these bass all 4 were 28" which is the minimum size for our slot. I let them all live to be caught another day. Attachment Deleted

Going out tomorrow striper fishing in Raritan bay / sandy hook.
Since I never fished before should interesting - hit mojos I can troll with and also have these plastic shad baits I can throw - any other ideas

Some guys will snag one and just open the bail, let is slowly sink to a striper waiting for an easy meal below. I like to reel it in and rig it on a hook through the mouth or between the eyes and cast it back, getting a treble snag hook out of a female or undersize bass usually does a lot of damage to it. If you come across a school of bunker, look at your sonar to see if there's any fish below it, if so, try the snag and drop.

This early a very productive way to fish is to troll with wire line using a parachute rig. View Attachment

Wireline is very unforgiving once you kink it throw it out. The parachute rig has to be on the bottom that's why you're using wire and you have to sweep the rod back and forth like you're sweeping the floor. If that parachute rig is not banging the bottom you won't catch fish but if it is they can't resist it. Good luck.
