Hey all, I lost my transducer last season (must have clipped something underway) and had it replaced with a Lowrance transducer. I have the Lowrance HDS Gen2 unit and after the new transducer was installed it would only read temperature but would not give me depth regardless of underway or at the dock. Anyone experience something similar? Any fixes? Super frustrating!! Thanks in advance.

Is the ducer connected direct to the MFD or through the N2K network?
Not sure if your Lowrance is like my Garmin, but does it have a set up/settings menu and can you check to see if its seeing the ducer is connected to the network?
Did you buy the replacement new or used? is it the same model ducer or newer? If a new model are you sure it's compatible with your MFD? Garmin does this crap, they introduce new stuff but if your existing equipment isnt 1 or 2 model years current it won't be compatible. Or it may just need to be set up/selected - see below.

Thanks for the reply! I am thinking that it is not compatible with my unit as the unit is almost 6 years old and the transducer was bought last year. Lowrance's website did say it was compatible so I am going back to them. What a pain in the ass!

If your MFD is still set up for your old ducer with different frequencies it wont read bottom. If Lowrance says it's compatible then I'm going with this theory... Check out your settings menu and make sure the new ducer is selected.

I had tried the settings but did not select the one shown in the video because I had no idea which one to pick! I am going to try the HST-WSBL one that he selected and pray it works. Thanks again!

I'd try that but unless the ducer you purchased is the same model as the one in the video I dont think selecting the same will do much good. Look up the ducer you bought on the Lowrance site and see if you can find a corresponding model number on your MFD settings menu. If not Lowrance tech support will likely be able to steer you in the right direction.
