This thread is for all things 276DC only. If you want to discuss general Sailfish items, find the proper thread elsewhere. Let's begin with why you purchased this sexy lady........

I considered one before I settled on the 245DC. The thing that kept drawing me in was the twin engines. A guy at the end of my lagoon ended up buying the one I was looking at. We've talked in passing and he loves it.

I haven't been on his boat on the water. When I was looking at boats, I did want something bigger that what I had. But, more importantly, I wanted a better hull design. I had a bowrider, and it was a nice boat, but it couldn't handle much chop. It also had a huge sunpad that took up like 3 feet in the cockpit. Moving from a 21 to a 24 and ditching the sunpad made the boat feel 6 feet bigger. That's enough for me. I will probably end up with a larger boat at some point in the future, but that won't be until the kids are out of college, at which point, I plan to look at center consoles.

Kids out of college means you are stone broke and ready to downsize since you don't have family excursions much anymore! At that point you can roll back to a 18 footer because that's all you'll need, and all your budget can afford!

Though, until that time, in my mind I'm envisioning a future of fishing off a 360CC--even though I know it's not the least bit likely. Then again, I keep hearing that boat prices will come down if I wait long enough.

At that point you can roll back to a 18 footer because that's all you'll need, and all your budget can afford! Just the opposite or at least i hope so Our family excursions stopped several years ago and our current boat is perfect for our existing lifestyle. At that point in our case as we will be empty nesters we will have more disposable income without the expense burden of children living at home and paying for college. And that means a bigger boat in our future! Plan is to keep the SF and get a sporty in the 40' range. Of course shit happens and we could be thrown a wrinkle that may interfere with that plan.

If your kids are anything like mine, the expense never really ends: Help with house down payment, car down payment, etc. etc. Not as bad as them living at home or college, but stuff comes up from time to time. And, I remember doing the same to my dad when we bought our first house and he helped us. Just don't plan on those expenses going to zero unless you get really lucky. Now my kids are telling me about how expensive their adult kids are. They're not complaining, just realizing things often come full circle.

I guess the 276 is a newer version of the 275? I looked at a SF 276 walk-through video. Great improvements are the smaller standard galley and added starboard side seating. The bow beach ladder, armrests on bow seating and the gull-wing bow hatch are non-players to me. If you are beaching a boat, you had better love doing hull gel coat/fiberglass repairs, continuously.
