Hi, I was wondering if anyone has replaced or repaired the fridge on their 2660. Mine hasn't been working and I looked at replacing with a stainless bc it is looking a little worn but after some research the only two I could find that might fit are the Isotherm cruise 42 and the Norcold NR740 and they are both $900. That's a pretty big hit for a sandwich/ bait cooler. I am now looking into possibly repairing the current one and checking the converter, control board, thermostat, etc.
If anyone has info on alternative replacements or insight on how to troubleshoot the old one it would be helpful info. TIA.

I have not replaced mine, but have had it out to access areas behind it to troubleshoot and resolve a galley sink drain issue (kink in the drain line was the cause, factory defect if you ask me as the drain hose was put into a too-tight bend). I can say that the fridge itself isn't too hard to remove and re-install, it is just a bunch of philips head screws around the flange of the fridge. I believe mine is an Isotherm dual power and my boat is a 275 DC not a 2660 but probably same or similar fridges are in them both. Good luck, maybe you can get it repaired with just a recharge or something simple.

Yeah the fridge is easy to remove, that Dometic looks like it will fit will need to double check the trim kit for it. Don't mind spending money on the boat but gosh 500-1k for a mini fidge that cant even hold enough beer hurts. Hell I may just make it a tackle storage

I opted to not get the fridge with the galley. Makes a nice storage area for fishing lures and tackle, tools and emergency stuff (oil, steering fluid, etc.) I had a fridge on my Albemarle and decided it was almost useless for how we used the boat. I did turn it on when heading out 80 miles to the gulf stream, but otherwise it was off. A small cooler had more room and kept things colder.
I guess if you 'entertain' a lot it can be useful, or if you need it to cool wine. Otherwise, I have more use for the space.

Our old 2006 2660 WAC had a fridge. On ours, the compressor was mounted remotely against wall which would be in front of the passengers feet. There was a cooling line that went from it to the back of the fridge. We had some problems at one point and I looked at replacing, but a lot of the units wouldn't fit because their compressors was mounted to the back of the unit, thus not allowing for clearance. Just some food for thought as you look at replacing. I ended getting a new board and had the unit leak tested. Found we had a leak as well. Had a local HVAC guy fix the leak and recharge. That was 12 years ago and it still working to this day for its new owner.
