So I am super frustrated. I have had two different transducers put on my boat the past two seasons and neither one is reading depth. It doesn't matter if I'm at the dock or underway. My unit is the Lowrance HDS Gen2. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on fixes? I've done a soft and hard reset of the unit to no avail. Everything else works fine, GPS, radar etc. I really hope I don't have to pull the unit out of the boat. Any advice is appreciated!

I'm not familiar with Lowrance, but have had several different MFDs over the years. My first check would be to see if the transducer shows in the inventory. Check online to see if there are updates that you can install. i know....it won't fix your problem, but you need to be at the latest level to work with any support group.
Again, no experience with Lowrance, but with all my previous devices the manufacturer will usually help with problem determination. I'd see if Lowrance will help you identify the failure (after software upgrades).

I have a Lowrance HDS & Tii. Sometimes the depth range won’t change properly, and I lose the sonar, it does come back after a reset- if I don’t want to reset I just use manual depth. So check what the depth range is set to.
If the transducer is not working the unit should say something to effect "no transducer detected" automatically. Which is telling me your transducer is ok -Is water temperature working?
Also check that the sonar is enabled- maybe it turned off by accident, I’m not in front of the unit, but somewhere in settings it can be turned off and that will not show up as "no transducer detected"
Of course, check the connection in the back of the unit, pull it out and see if there is corrosion- it does have o-rings, but best to check the easy stuff first.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions. The water temperature is working. I am going to get on the boat this week and call Lowrance and see if they can help me resolve it. I will report back.
