Good morning! I have a 2017 Sailfish 270 CC, bought it used in 2021. The fuel tank has a fill limit vent valve that is badly corroded on the outside, but it still functions. I would like to replace it, but it appears it will be a challenging job due to the corrosion and the screws are phillips head and may strip and I try to unscrew them. Also the deck place access is not centered over the vent valve so getting to half the screws will be very difficult. Has anyone come accross a similar situation and if so what was done to replace the vent valve.
I was able to get all six bolts off, found the replacement fill limit vent valve (FLVV) and I'm waiting the part to be shipped. I did spray the around the bolts with Kroil several times and let it soak for a few days. Could have been a better design by Sailfish manufacturer and Attwood supplied FLVV. Also, I changed out the deck plates from pry open to screw off in this location and all others that were similar.

Good for you. Maybe once you get the part it will be an easy fix.
