Hit the fish camp Friday around 5 and hit the water. And it started to rain. In fact it was windy and it rained every dang night. But the wildest thing...it would cease for 2 hours before kicking back up and it was llike ringing a dinner bell because they came out in good numbers We got our first that night. A decent 7’5” Cleaned him, had some whiskey and in bed by 7a Night 2, started the same, and again the dead calm 2 hour window. We hooked one with chicken, and it was a good one. But we could not get a treble in him. After 10 min he broke the line I spotted one on the far bank and we headed over. He dropped down, I made a cast and nailed him. We got another hook, and the buoy in him and finally the big treble. Brought him up and POP. Done. A 10’7” gator. This one took us til 8 ish before bed. Night 3. Again rain rain rain. And again the 2 hour clearing We nailed a 7’1” and then a real nice 8’ And we were tagged out. Back earlier to clean. We just made it back and the sky opened up. This time with thunder and lightning. That put us to daylight again before bed. Of course this was what the next day was like This was what it looked like in the daytime where we hinted This was the camp cookhouse at fish camp We had some plusses from the rain. ZERO skeeters or noseeums. But when the rain ceased holy shit biting flies were brutal out there. The boat my buddy has was a Sea Ark I beleive. 20’ all aluminum. Heavy gauge.

Holy shit that's a big gator! Look at that big ass hole for a mouth and throat!
Are you guys using fishing rods to reel them in?
Do you sell the skins?

Yeah. Start out with penn 9500 with heavy braid. Loaded with either a big treble to snag or a wooden dowel baited Once close we throw the big treble on them.
We could sell but it’s so little $$ it’s not worth the effort

Yep. .357
It’s badass. One of the 7’s was a screamer. The bigger ones like to go down and just lay. You can’t move them until you get the big hook in them. If they want to take off...you can’t stop them. Just hang on and enjoy the ride
