On 9/11/2001. I was on and island in the Thimble Islands in Branford Connecticut building a fireplace.
I watched a lot of the footage today, you can't help not getting emotional. God bless everyone and their families who perished in that attack. The effects of that attack are still with us today we're still losing First Responders who worked those debris piles. It's hard for me to watch I can't imagine what the families who lost loved ones go through.

I was working in a retail store with no tv. We were listening to the radio. At lunch I went home and got to watch some footage.
This hits home to me because a couple of my closest friends are firemen. They put their life on the line every day.

I was headed to drop off some packages at the post office and heard it on the radio when the first plane hit. Turned around and headed home and my wife and I watched the horrible scene. Her brother was one of the first firemen at the Pentagon and the section he was assigned to search had no survivors. I doubt he'll ever stop seeing that tragedy.

I was working my second week at a law firm, second career for me, prior to that had worked int he financial industry. Was on the 23rd floor on Feb 26 1993 when it was bombed, I worked for a company called Eurobrokers at the time. After the bombing we moved up to the 84th floor I believe. Lost many many friends at Eurobrokers and Cantor that day. Watched it on a TV in a conference room. My wife was in Washington DC on a business trip, staying at the Sheraton Pentagon of all places. Worst day of my life.

I was working in Boston and listening to sports radio. They said a small commuter plane crashed into the World Trade Center, we watched the second plane hit on TV once everyone realized what was happening. I will never forget what a crystal clear blue sky day it was. The city started to evacuate because the rumors that Boston, LA were the next targets. It was a ghost town when I got to my train station. The next day was so eerie with no planes in the sky except for the fighter jets that were patrolling. One of the worst days in history and let's hope our citizens don't forget it and honor those lost.

I was working graveyard shit at Boeing building 747s. I was driving home that morning listening to the local rock station. All I’ve a sudden in the middle of a song the DJ said “holy shit, a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center”. The rest of the drive home there was more talking and even the TV/Radio in his studio playing national news then there was music. I got home turned on the TV and shortly there after the second plane hit and so on. Over the next 6 months Boeing laid of me and about 30,000 people. Rag’s
Never Forget!!

I know for a while all flights were a no go. But why such a huge lay off. Did they stop production for that long.
