I went out to do some testing doing some engine toe and torque tab adjustments, was moving along at 3900 RPMs with the AP engaged and THUD, THUD... SHIT! I turned around and saw this big ass tree/log bobbing in the water and slowly sink just below the surface. Luckily the force of the impact pushed it down far enough that my motors didnt hit it. I came to a stop, checked to see if pumps were coming on, stuck my head in the bilge all clear! Cut power trimmed the motors to inspect them, all is good. I dont know what if any damage was caused along the keel. Boat seemed to drive ok.

That sucks! I hit earlier this year. It wasn’t a big log but scared the crap out of me. No damage.

That sucks! I hit earlier this year. It wasn’t a big log but scared the crap out of me. No damage. This appeared to be a tree +/- 10' long and 10"-12" around, if I had to guess based on the glimpse I got. Biggest thing I've hit. Thank God it didnt hit the motors.

O that sucks, Be thankful you didn't hit the log parallel to the boat. Then it punches through the hull.

That's always a major concern around here after a hurricane goes through; maybe the same after a strong n'oreaster for you. When Irma came through a few years ago, the St. Johns River was carrying trash for weeks and weeks. On the local outdoor show, a fishing guide mentioned just missing a picnic table that was floating along about 6" below the surface. I'm sure that would tear up a hull and lower unit!

Wow that’s some scary shit. Hope your weekend inspection shows you didn’t do any damage. The good news is my boat was still floating this weekend. The bad news is my inspection didn't go very good, I jumped into the water and it was 59 degrees,i thought I was going I to heart failure and got out after about 12 seconds.
