New Virginia Regulation: The one daily fish allowed to anglers will be restricted to 20 to 36 inches.
The lower Chesapeake Bay and coastal Virginia Beach has had a serious drop in the numbers over the last several years and the large (breeding size) bass are now forbidden and only 1 medium size per day. Since my last 4 or 5 attempts came up empty I'd be happy with one, but I think I'll bypass them for a couple of years and hope the stock rebuilds.
Our fishing management is not good. We seem to go from feast to famine on various fish instead of having rules that maintain a fairly constant stock.
Glad you guys up north are still seeing good numbers. Maybe some strays will head this way.

Maybe some strays will head this way We always have a strong run of bass here in CT. What has changed is the large fish 36 to 50" are very hard to come by over the past three years. Tons of fish 18 to 25" I guess that's a good thing. Anyway I no longer take any fish all bass fishing on my boat is catch and release.
