The boy has played in the same LL since tBall Tonight he has a tryout with a travel team.
He’s never done that. He knows no one at all In fact the team was already chosen but the HC said he’d Give him a look.
He went out and caught the first 2 fly balls hit to him.
While spitting cotton balls, he sucked jt up.
if they invite him back his confidence would blow up.
Fingers crossed

Guess it didn’t. Emailed him Sunday asking what the coaches thought, status, etc
No reply.
:-(
He def was not the weakest in that team.
Only diff I could see was he uses a wooden bat. They all use the super-walled $400 bats. All his hits were in the outfield but didn’t explode like the others. Who knows.

That's cool and I completely understand how he feels. My first national championship I competed in. I was just under 13 years old, put on a plane and sent to Spokane Washington. I was so nervous. I wish your son the best of luck. Regardless of what happens I'm sure you will encourage him to keep playing to get better and he will

keep working out with him OM, if he likes the game is a matter of time. I remember my son first games playing with dirt in the infield, and some rejections on travel teams, and at the end he played for the University of Miami Hurricanes when they were number 1 team in the nation, and went 2 times to the College World Series in Omaha.
