I have been dealing with a weird problem on my port side HPDI 200....
The dock hand was telling me that it stalls when going into reverse. When I take it out, I usually warm them for about 10 minutes or so. I noticed the problem once or twice off shore when trying to spin the boat with a fish on. When it happens, It always starts right back up.
So this last weekend, I went out to change the main filters because they were due anyway. I tested it out at the slip, and sure thing, it stalled going into reverse almost every time. I let it warm up a bit and it got better. I also noticed that it was kind of hard to start... It started, ran for 5 seconds and quit. Did this about 4-5 times before she ran.... Of course, that was AFTER I replaced the filter, so maybe some air got in the fuel line...
Also observed a little bit of oily residue dripping down the back of the motor from under the cowl. It's clear and does not smell like oil or fuel. Could just be wet from the last ride, IDK. Keeping an eye on it.
Anyway, looking for common faults to look for as I investigate this further.

Are the idle RPMs the same between motors?
Might want to try a heavy dose of sea foam using the Dunk method and/or Ring Free to see if it has anything to do with deposit build up.

Pretty much yea, same RPM.
I'll try the seafoam. I'll just fill up my filter with it.
New plugs may be in order.

New plugs would be next step after the Sea Foam treatment. F150s seem to have a similar problem. My motor will crap out sometimes and it always seems to happen when I'm try to dock. Can be addressed through and idle adjustment.
