I knew about LEDs potentially causing VHF noise, but I hadn't seen this method for testing before. It's simple enough and I'll use it the next time I'm on the boat and replace any LEDs causing noise: LED noise

I've used those for years on cables. As my house was being built I put ferrites on all the in-wall Ethernet cables I installed. I've scoped the interference caused by parallel signal and power cables more than once. However, I don't really want to install ferrites on the boat. If I find noisy LEDs they'll be replaced unless it is very, very low noise.
