While waiting for my new to me 2660 cc to arrive in the great white north I’m thinking about setup options. I’m thinking that I’m going to run a gimbal mounted track of the side gimbal rod holders. I know I’ll need a backing plate. It seems like it would be somewhat easy to access the underside of these through the rod storage hole on the sides. Is that the case or is it still tough to get at?
Thoughts ideas and suggestions welcome!

i have the Trac's from your fellow MI based company and I don't have backing plates. The weight is very well dispersed along the Trac, so if you don't have good access to the rod holders, I wouldn't worry.

Not sure I can swing the cost for that setup. I’m thinking the track mounted on top of a single gimbal mount. I’m concerned that with one or two dipseys and a three rod tree there’s going to be a lot of pressure on that one gimbal. I may just reinforce under the combing bolster section and mount the tracks there. That may be the easiest solution.

To ask a gimbal mount to support two dipseys and a tree is not realistic. How about adding another gimbal rod holder halfway. I did that also.(Cup & rod holder combo) You can choose going forward or back with the trac, plus you can get access to the new gimbal and add a backing plate.

Here's a photo of the tracs system with the gimble mounts. Disregard the guy in the background.
