Captains ~
I am new to this forum but not new to the SAILFISH boats. I was Kanaloa on the previous Sailfish Forum. I have returned to and as my original "Blue Agave". I have owned 2 SAILFISH, 2003-236 & 2008-2860. I am looking to purchase my 3rd. I have a solid offer placed on a 2019-270. I am home based out of Kent Island, Maryland. I fish the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and have fished both with both of my previous SAILFISH. I am looking at the 270 as sometimes I just want to get up early and go for a cruise alone. The 270 might be a bit easier to manage alone when launching and landing. Are there any 270 owners out there that could give me the deets on their experiences with the 270?
Tight Lines, Fair Winds & Following Seas!
Steve

Hey Steve, welcome to the new forum, glad you found us!
There are quite a few of us 2660cc/270cc owners here. I have a 2010 2660 that fish out of Annapolis and offshore out of Ocracoke NC.
I dont know the difference in size will be hugely noticeable since the 2860 is only 2' longer, has the same beam. In either case I find the 2660 easily manageable by myself, I've launched and hauled my boat by myself plenty of times.
I found her to be a great boat for the bay and super capable for running offshore.
Good luck with your buy!

Welcome back !!! You had a nice 2860 and the 270 will serve you well. I have fished out of both and there’s not a lot of difference in the two. In big seas the bigger boat is a little more stable but not by much. The only thing you will mis is the rear fish boxes.

Welcome Back Blue Agave. I also just purchased and 2009 2660 and find it as easy to manage as my ‘04 236. However, I have learned that it doesn’t push off the sandbar as easy as the 236 did. Lol. Good luck with your search.
