Hello all. I am a new member to the forum but have been running in a Sailfish for a bit. I recently upgraded from a 2006 218cc with a 200HP OX66 to a new 242CC with twin Yami 150s. Loved the old boat but decided to upgrade for a little more room and some offshore fishing. Just completed my 10 hr break-in and am really impressed with the boats performance. Looks like I am going to have about the same fuel efficiency as my old rig.

Glad you found us and congratulations! Granted the 218 is a GREAT hull, but that's a good jump up, a lot more fiberglass, weight and room. I made a similar jump from a 218, but to a 2660.

Welcome aboard, love the boat. There's several members here now who fish that area, including myself. Hope to see you on the water this season.

Thanks, looking forward to getting out on the water and keeping up with the Sailfish community. I have another thread going on thru-hull transducers if you know anyone with experience with the Garmin GT51M-TH. Picked up the 242 last Oct and have been busy tweaking it for my preferences. I added a 24" Radar, TACO Outriggers, two bow flush mount rod holders, upgraded to the 8' dual band VHF/FM antenna and clamp on rod holders attached to the leaning post backrest so I still have 4 rod holders with the backrest installed. Next is to get the side scan transducer since I have the 7612svx and my old boat had it.

Hello, we just purchased a new 242 CC too and are in Maine. Great to hear you are really impressed with its performance! We love the boat too but have had some initial issues that our dealer was fortunately able to resolve (under warranty).

Sounds like you've made a few improvement. I assume the VHF dual band includes AIS. I used the NMEA 0183 on my Standard Horizon to feed AIS to the Garmin. So glad I did. Now I can track AIS boats by their name and location.
Welcome aboard.
