I have 245DC: - I assume the fresh water pump switch has to be on to run the head. If this is correct, do you just leave it on?
- Is it OK to leave the raw water seacock open all the time?
- I am flushing my engine about 7-8 minutes - is this sufficient?

Not sure about the head, because I don't have one on my boat. Leaving the pumps on are okay because when they pressurize they automatically shut down until the need for more water. I leave the Seacock open for the season but I advise you to occasionally open and close it during the season to make sure it doesn't get stuck in the open position. The time that your flushing your Motors in my opinion is more than ample. All good questions.

Is the head fresh water? Mine pulls through a separate sea cock and thru-hull. Because of this, fresh water switch has no bearing. The seacock for head gets opened and closed with each use, otherwise I got a lot of water into console area. I leave the wash down/baitwell one open all the time. Like mentioned I excercise it a few times per year so I know I can close it if needed.
Leaving pumps on - I don’t. Reason being is I’ve has hoses split/spring leaks. At least on my raw water washdown hose leaving it pressurized all day seemed to shorten its lifespan.

On the 245DC the head is fresh water. So much better smelling than the sea water head I had on my Albemarle.
As for having the pump on to use the head, it implies in the troubleshooting part of the owners guide that the head should turn on the pump. I can't say for sure as I've always had the fresh water pump on when using the head so grandkids can use the sink.
And, I agree with the advice to move the seacocks at least once a year. Like all insurance, you hope never to use it, but always want it to be ready. And I shut all my switches off and the batteries off (automatic bilge pumps will still work) when the boat is not in use.
