Boat was finally put back in the water by the marina yesterday, but when I took it out this AM, the livewell in the transom wouldn't fill. I can hear the pump running and the valve by the pump appears to be opened (lever is parallel to the hose), but no water is coming in. Marina staff are still scrambling to get through the covid-back-log of launching boats, so may be a while before I can get someone to take a look. Any thoughts as to what the issue may be would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does your livewell also have a valve where the water comes out?
There's a drain valve (that is plastic) that you twist (at least on my boat) and there is a metal seacock with double clamped hoses that is usually installed above the pick up. The handle position is either down or up. Up for closed and d down for open. Perhaps you're looking at the drain valve? If that is parallel to the drain line that means the valve is open and the livewell will drain.
Possible blockage at the pick up? Eg. Bees nest, mud wasp, bottom painted over, etc...

Hadn't looked for a valve where the water enters the livewell -- will check that when I head back to the dock. I believe the pickup is on the bottom, so so that one will be more of a trick to check, but a definite possibility. thanks.

Also like I said, make sure you've identified the drain valve and pick up valves in your bilge.
We have some 245 DC owners that I'm sure will chime on, but usually with all boats, there is a pick up seacock/valve and a drain valve.

Will do. I had only looked for one valve, so will go back and check for the second. Would much prefer to turn a valve than to put on the diving mask.

For the benefit of other new DC owners let us know what you find. Good luck

I'm pretty sure the high speed pickup for the livewell is on the starboard, in the rear, even though the livewell is on the port side. 6 inches maybe a foot forward of your starboard scupper on the side.

Will do. I had only looked for one valve, so will go back and check for the second. Would much prefer to turn a valve than to put on the diving mask. 3 valves total are possible. One at thru Hull (sea cock), the very tip of water inlet can be closed, and a valve on the drain which is not your immediate problem.

The valve located where the water enters the livewell was off. It's tucked under the lip of the top of the livewell, between the livewell wall and the entry spout (and is the same black plastic as the entire assembly), so it's not immediately visible. Turned it on and it works fine now. Thanks for all the input.

Glad ya solved it, a lot of times it's the simple things...
Something else to keep in mind,,, if the seacock is open and your drain valve closed, and you fill valve open, your live well will fill up while under way without the switch being on. You might notice your boat starting to list due to the added unexpected weight.
I usually keep my seacock to my livewell closed unless I plan to use my live well. I open it in the winter while on the hard to let any water out. Just an fyi

If you put your snacks in there because you’re not planning to use the livewell that day (or towels, shoes, anything intended to stay dry) the might be a little soggy when you go to eat them!!
