Hello from Sunny Savannah, GA! I've had boats all my life and enjoy, shrimping, crabbing, fishing and a little island hopping on occasion. In October of 2016, hurricane Matthew dropped an 80' oak tree on my boat. That's when I discovered my homeowners insurance didn't cover my boat! I've been saving up my pennies and recently stumbled across a deal I just couldn't pass up. Today, I got a 1998 Sailfish 198 DC with a 115 Yamaha. It's a little bigger than what I was looking for, but it had everything I was looking for and was a one owner boat that was serviced annually by a buddy that I went to high school with that is a Yamaha dealer here in town. All original everything, including the AM/FM/Cassette player and factory equipped 20 year old fish/depth finder. It was a steal, and my wife pitched in to make it happen for my 60th birthday. Now that's a Great Wife!! She loves to go crabbing and just getting out in the boat and look for shells on some of out barrier islands that you can only get to by boat. Looking forward to swapping adventures and maybe getting a little help in getting all the electrical items working correctly on this boat. 20 years of salt water takes it's toll on 12V electrical stuff.

Welcome mudbug and congratulations! love seeing more classic SF models showing up since theres so little information available on them. The forum can become a good resource for fellow Classic SF owners.
