Finally got around to eliminating the old circuit board switch set-up on my 02 236. While I’m doing all this I remembered the compass actually has wires and sailfish never hooked them up.
Wondering for those of you that actually did hook them up...how’d you wire it? How’d you conceal the wires or route them?

I'll have to check on mine. I'm guessing the wires are to light the compass for evening or night boating but mine dosen't light up. I just thought it was not working.

The only compass wiring I've seen is two 22 ga wires for the backlight. Connect them to the same positive and negative tabs that your navigation light switch uses.

Mine broke years ago,if this helps any. Wires were for the light.
