To start off shark week I went deep dropping for swords and caught a 10 foot Mako on bottom in 1600 feet. 0 for 2 on swords by the way. It’s hard to tell how big this sucker is but we were in a 36 Cape Horn that I am looking at buying.

Cool
Was it a long fin or short fin? I guess you didnt keep it?
The bigger question is, you are looking to buy that 36 you were on? Did the trip seal the deal?

Short fin. I wanted to keep it but we had no way to land it. No flying gaff or harpoon and no gun. We would have lost the two regular gaffs we had if we tried to gaff it. Pretty cool fish. He jumped next to the boat about 10 feet in the air. Of course we didn’t get that on video.
I have fished on this boat a couple times and know it pretty good. It is in the slip 5 down from mine. I’m wanting it bad but it’s a lot of money and not the best time for me. Daughter is starting med school in the spring. Who knows, I have gotten him down a good bit so far.

I was going to ask if he put on an aerial display. That's awesome.
I hear that! Just wait till your daughter is out and earning the big bucks and she can take care of her old man. Hahaha

Dam Richard your always in flat water. After your daughter lands a job as a doctor or surgeon or whatever it maybe she can buy that Yellowfin for you. I hope to get into blue water Thursday.
