Good morning folks.
I am a new member to the forum. Last year I purchased my 2009 218 Center Console after a few years of admiring another owner’s 218CC at my marina. South Jersey based.
I did have one question which might be my only complaint. Despite having a Yamaha 150 to power the boat, the engine remains slightly in the water despite being fully lifted. Does anyone else have the same issue and/or solution? It builds up some growth if sitting idle for a week or two and drainage is an issue when cleaning. Other than the batteries, there is nothing else that would be weighing down stern.
Thanks!
Dave

Welcome Dave! I have heard others say they have the same problem. Not sure how to remedy this problem. Hopefully others will chime in.

Welcome aboard, obvious quick improvement is to move the batteries forward if possible. Where in S south Jersey are you? I'm in Seaside park.

Welcome aboard. Hope you get a quick answer. I've read a few about not having a full tank, etc., but I don't recall a better answer to the problem.

Mark a line and apply anti fouling paint.

Welcome aboard. My 218 with a 150 never hit the water when tilted up fully. The scuppers did drain slowly, check the drain tubes and make sure they don't dip way below the water line. I had used styrofoam blocking to pick them up so they didn't create a water trap and it did help some.

Thank you all for chiming in! I’ll check the drain tubes for the scuppers but have noticed that the scuppers dip below the water line particularly when I’m standing in the stern. I’m based out of Sea Isle City, NJ. This summer was our best season for fluke in recent years since the regulations increased the size limit. We have a saying that every 16” fish is a South Jersey fluke...it’s the hand we’re dealt living down here 😂😂😂
