If you have this filter for your raw water pump, be sure to check it regularly. My pump died (doubt it had much life anyways) and I’m sure it contributed. Also, along with a pump, new screen, apparently we had a wind storm that ripped the heck outta my cover (it to was on its last days though) Fun fun It’s been a pricey year for the boat/m/t Had to rebuild the entire trailer. Had some stuff with the motor to attend to. Pump Cover I guess the age is catching up with her.

I had the old large Perko filters on two of my boats and they worked great for years. Now the strainer I've got isn't much larger than my thumb and I check it much more often. I did add some antifreeze to the Perkos if it was really going to get cold, but most years I ignored it and never had a problem.

Where do you find this filter? I have a 270. Obviously I’ve never checked it cause I didn’t know it was there.
