Curious what the underneath of the rim of your livewell looks like? I looked at a 2021 241 CC this past weekend and noticed there was a gap underneath so in theory water would be able to splash up underneath and run into the bilge, I assume. Not sure that is a problem but I was surprised it was not fully enclosed. Is there a reason for this? Has it caused anyone issues?

I've had 3 sailfish and they're all like that. There's usually an overflow drain mounted on the sidewall to keep the water from getting too high, but I imagine that some does overflow into the bilge. I've read in the past where some have caulked the gap to seal it. For me, I've never found it to be an issue and I take my '08 2860 out 40-50 miles out pretty regularly.

Not only is your baitwell like that but your forward fish boxes are the same way. After stuffing the 2 forward fish lockers with ice and Blue Fin as the day ended and ice melted my bilge was full of blood, from water sloshing around up over the openings. This winter I plan to seal them with expandable spray foam you can buy from Home Depot or a hardware store.

I sealed my live well with 5200 but the fish boxes remain open due to me being to fat to crawl in there and seal them up! I have found that leaving the plug out of the fish boxes helps tremendously both for lasting longer and not sloshing around. On my last trip I had both boxes full and some frozen jugs in a kill bag and had plenty of ice for 4 tunas. Probably enough for 4 more.

I was replacing batteries in my 218CC yesterday, and so my head was partially in the bilge looking up at the underside of the deck over the livewell. I don't see the gap you can feel from the top of the livewell? It looks well sealed from below?
