Hey All,
I’ve been heavily researching the 290 and reading all the posts I can...love the layout of this boat!
I am looking for honest reviews on how those with the 290 like the ride, fit and finish etc. Thought I read somewhere that someone didn’t like the ride in following seas. Right now this boat has my heart and I need to get out and sea trial one.
One big concern I have that I see floating around is stress cracks. I know that most boats get them and my previous boats have had them...interested to see how those with the 290 are holding up.
Thanks in advance for the input and help.

I have an 08 2860, so the same hull. In fact, I’ve had two of them...the first one was damaged in a hurricane, but we liked it so much we tracked down the exact same boat to replace it.
Mine is obviously older so not as plush as the newer 290s, but I’ve been totally satisfied with the layout and ride. I have a few stress cracks in one corner near the livewell, but that’s it. Ive heard wiring is better on the newer boats.
We’ve crossed over to the Bahamas for vacation, I just took it on an overnight 80 miles out last month...as much as I’m always looking at the latest boats, it does everything I need.

I also have a 2860 and second jski59. I don’t have the stress cracks. My only gripes are with the wiring and insulation of fish boxes. I have pretty much required the boat but the fish boxes won’t hold ice very good. I have found a couple remedies to help though. No problems with a following sea for me. I put the bow up and give her gas.

Hi Maverick,
I have a 2019 29' CC and really enjoy it. With the 300hp Yamaha's, it it economical, 2mpg at 33mph with 4 on board and half fuel, rides well in most conditions for its size, and gets up and goes when needed. I have 150hrs on the rig and zero stress cracks. Fit and finish is good. My only gripe is the wiring behind the dash. Installed twin Garmin 12' screens, VHF and a HD radar. When you take a look from the access hatches there is a lot going on back there. Certainly not a deal breaker for me but definitely made me appreciate the wiring on some pricier vessels. Any deep deadrise boat will not be at its best in a following sea. It will make up for it in a head sea and most other sloppy conditions. Good luck with your decision!

Happy Thanksgiving y’all and thanks for the responses.
