Read this on another site...
"Yamaha just canceled all orders nation wide, Mercury is 54+ weeks across the board.
It started with a press release about 5 weeks ago stating that all orders not delivered by June 30th would be cancelled and on July 1st new orders could be placed with no consideration for any length of wait on a cancelled previous order. As soon as I read it I knew it was to restructure so that they could direct the engines to the boatbuilders. Now about 2 weeks ago they canceled all retail orders effective immediately upon that release.
Looks like Suzuki will be going NUTS!"

I'm assuming this is COVID supply and demand issue?! It's crazy the things that are affected. I went to get paint the other day to paint a bathroom and the paint suppliers are no longer providing metal cans as there is some supply issue at a factory in Texas. The paint store has to use their own plastic cans. Crazy...

I hope that the replacement parts/components are not going to follow.

On the bright side my engine was fixable, thank Gawd!

I just saw the post on THT. Considering the thread starter and the source, I would say "Fake News"!

I just saw the post on THT. Considering the thread starter and the source, I would say "Fake News"! But Parker Yacht a Yammy dealer later shared a memo from Yamaha it seems more or less confirming, that if your motor doesnt ship by June 30th they are canceling the order and.I guess you have to get back in line and wait all over again with no promise of a delivery date. So it seems "immediate" was a bit exaggerated fo sho

Funny y'all say that, I saw a flat bed going down the road the other day with 2 brand new 20 foot something production boats with no outboards. Maybe the dealer they're sending them has inventory to rig them, but then again I think a lot of dealers are out of inventory too.

When I picked up my boat they we scrambling to get motors for new builds. I don't think it looks good for Re-Powers for the next 1-2yrs. Dealers will be getting them first.
