So how much does a pump cost and anyone know the best one to get for Simrad AP? Also, what’s a reasonable installation charge? I have to do this on my boat.

Pump is by Seastar, it's about $1800 plus install. It works with Garmin, Simrad etc. Install is about a grand, it's a little more complicated because of the AP, it has to be tied in. It really is nice, silky smooth.

It really is nice, silky smooth. That sounds awesome. I'll need to do some investigating on my steering system this winter. I don't know how these seastar systems begin to fail but mine may be heading in that direction. The past two seasons it seems it's been getting more and more difficult to turn the wheel. I still have full range as far as turning the boat, it's just become much more difficult.

I still have new switches, 100 hour service, and my outriggers to install. Those will be done by Thanksgiving.
