Has anyone accessed their bow eye?
Im not sure if I can get to it through the anchor locker or not, I have over 300' of rode and chain in their at the moment so before I pull it out to check thought I'd see if anyone knows for sure.

It's been years like yourself, but I do remember seeing the two nuts attaching the eye. Not 100 percent sure on that. Sound's like a good time to clean rode and locker, haha you know where I'm going. Lol. Off to Block Island to do some fluke fishing.

Yes, you can access it through the anchor locker. You just have to remove the rode and chain, and PVC tube for the anchor storage, if you have it.

Mine is a little loose also, so I took all the rode and anchor out did not see access to the bolts to tighten from the anchor locker. On the outside of boweye there are two nuts that can be tightened I will take a Picture of mine when I get home

So I thought I'd bump this up and follow up since I had a chance to take a closer look this afternoon... I pulled out the 300' of rode and chain. And boy was my little locker dirty. Anyways there was no access to the backside of the bow eye because SF lined this areas with a plastic tub. Fortunately I could reach the locker drain to snake it out with a zip tie since when I removed the rode all of the junk fell out and clogged my drain. I then took another look at my bow eye and noticed there were two nuts on the outside. I shouldve paid more attention to ksoles post above. Hmmmm, damn if I didnt think I could tighten it at the bow eye. Hopped in the water and put a wrench to it and both nuts were on the loose side so I tightened them up and now all is good. If anything pulling all of the rode and chain out gave me a chance to clean my filthy locker. Hopefully I'll never have a need to get to the back side of the bow eye.
