Since I had zero luck finding factory forward facing bow backrest for my 2180CC and I cant justify paying $685 for the Birdsall ones. Here is My build thread.
What Im going for:
Initial Mockup with PVC:
Picked up some 1-1/4'' Stainless Pipe from a local business. It fits very snug in the vertical rod holders. Soon as I get some time I am going to try and bend this into shape with my tubing bender.

Is the last pic the finished product? pretty impressive! No that’s just another photo I pulled for inspiration. Somehow I attached it at the bottom of the post unknowingly. LOL

Ordered my seats I’m going to use the backrest from. They have solid backs that I should be able to attach a mounting bracket to.

If you can find a mounting bracket that swivels it's probably a good idea. the ability to swivel the backrest a bit will make the precision of your bends a lot less important. having a backrest at an awkward angle could almost be worse than no backrest....

Looking good!
I noticed that in your first pics with the initial pipe fitting you had the bow cushion in place to get the correct height for the bend. However, when using your wood jig, it was placed on the fiberglass rather than on the cushion. You might check the height before welding to make sure it doesn't end up too low for you.

Wow, really nice. Good job! I have been wanting to do something like this for my boat as well.

Had some time today to finish this project. Found I had to lift the welder up to the bow for the gun to reach to tack these together and finish outside the boat. All in all I’m very pleased. They aren’t store quality but well worth what it cost me in materials. And damn, they are very comfortable to sit in the bow now.
