Hello, I was able to place an order for my new 245DC last fall. It arrived in January and we love it. The factory made some custom changes for me, and they came out great. Thank You Jon. I have owned new boats since my first in 1992, and this one is tops. Keep it in Florida, at my Cape Coral home on a lift.

Welcome aboard, fellow 245 DC owner here, from NJ and Key Largo. What type of changes did you have them make at the factory?

Welcome aboard, fellow 245 DC owner here, from NJ and Key Largo. What type of changes did you have them make at the factory? Sorry for the delay in getting back here. I had met the national dealer support manager at the Fort Myers boat show, back in 2019. I had asked him which support column the wiring was located that ran up to the lighting in the hardtop. He was curious as to why, so I told him that I wanted to run a power line up from the spare accessory switch on the dash. I explained that we have a 20 minute ride at idle speed from the Gulf Of Mexico (Sanibel Island) to my home dock in the backyard, I had said that we used a fan sitting on the dashboard of my old boat, plugged into the cigar lighter. On the new Sailfish, I wanted a sleeker look and design. I said that I wanted to install a 12VDC plug and cover in the hardtop, to power the new fan that I was looking for. He picked up his cell phone and called the factory, spoke to the owners son who was in charge of production at the time, and explained what I wanted to do. Without missing a beat, the Son offered to install the wiring and receptacle in the hardtop for me, and connect up the accessory switch, all at no extra cost. When it was time to place the order for the boat to be built, a year later, after the company owner sold the company, I contacted Jon at Sailfish. I was delighted that he remembered me and had his notes and was willing to honor the former owners commitment. I picked the location that I wanted on blueprints that he sent me, and was delighted when the boat was delivered and I found not one, but two different plug installations with covers, both hidden on the side of the hardtop frame. Totally hidden from view below. I purchased a white 12VDC multi speed fan, with a suction cup mounting base, and cigar lighter plug. When I don't want the fan there, it stores in a locker. Beautiful.

Glad that Sailfish was able to do that modification for you. Adding wiring to the hardtop is not easy once it's on the boat.
I ended up adding a fan using a V-lock on to the hardtop support bar just above the side window and plug it in on the galley receptacle. Yours sounds like a more elegant solution.

Thanks, it came out great. I will send pictures later. I was going to drill mounting holes in the ice blue hardtop, but I like the suction cup idea for now.

I've had both good and bad luck with suction cups. Most the the failures involved things like drink cans on another boat where suction cup failure wasn't much of an issue. I've hesitated to use them since then on anything that could hit someone, or cause damage to the boat. My Caframo Kona fan isn't all that heavy, but heavy enough I went with the V-lock to ensure it stayed in place, plus I had a rail mount V-lock left over from my previous boat (used on old boat for gaff or net holder).
Anyway, with the radar, radio antena and outriggers added, I have plenty of holes in the hardtop, so a couple of more wouldn't be too big an issue, but I don't have a power connection for the fan unless I ran another wire. I gave up on wiring in the hardtop supports as I couldn't get the radar wires through and had to run them externally.

I have the same Caframo Kona marine fan in the 12VDC version. I paid $ 92.04 for it on March 16, 2021. I just checked the price on Amazon and it's now going for $ 214.81!
