Hey everyone, got a 2007 218 with a 200 3.3l Yamaha just before summer. Had 950 hours. Boat mainly in Cape Cod bay, MA. Had some gremlins in the beginning but got over 100hrs on it over the summer and fall, a lot of fish, and smiles. Wiring is a disaster, not a shocker. Plans are rewire and battery relocation if I can find a good spot in the console. Use the factory battery switch location to put the wash down switches in. I kept turning them on with my knee when fishing the stern. A good wet sand, and restore some gel coat. I can see the old numbers from the original owner. And move the name to the transom, I'm enough superstitious I'm not changing it haha. It's a boat I'm shure there will be more. Awesome hull, big fan.

Good luck it's worth it. Had a 218 for 10 years loved the ride and only had to replace those switches from being in the weather all the time .Upgraded to a 270 because I wanted twin motors .Ran that boat offshore 25 miles often. Best riding boat in that class. Rob

From what I've read if you have a previously installed MMSI on your VHF radio, it can be a much more difficult process to get that changed.

Thanks everyone, was coming from a 2003 Seastrike 190cc with a Yamaha 115 4 stroke. Had a 16 degree deadrise and the ride and room in going only a few feet is night and day. That boat was a great bay boat and was family owned since 2003. I got it in 2015 for my use. Only thing I miss is how economical it was to use haha.

The Sailfish will rock a lot more at drift but it rides damn good esp in a tight chop.

Between the Cape Cod Bay and out toward Monomoy you have some pretty rich and productive waters. Your rig should suit you fine. I fished CCB for several years out of Plymouth and Sandwich. Now we prowl Nantucket & Vineyard Sounds, the Elizabeths for inshore picks and south of the islands for pelagics... All the best with the upcoming season. Pete
