Howdy fellow Sailfisherowners! I'm Don in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (just north of St. Augustine and east of JAX). My neighbor and a partner own a 2011 2660 and they are both having kids, so the partner needed to bail. I'm picking up his share and am already feverishly working on trailer, trolling motor (Rhodan 120# with a massive 280ah LiFePO4+ battery - can't wait!), and some rewiring of some original components, which is how I found this forum.
Already made good use of her, and can't wait to get her fitted out for dive tanks and whatnot.
If anyone has mounted tank holders, I'd love to see where. I have the livewell seat, so I think I can slap a tank holder to the back of that and along the coaming pads, but I'd be interested in seeing what's worked for others.
Anyone down in South Florida who's made the trip across to Grand Bahama? Planning on that for Memorial Day. Love to know how you think she handles on that crossing.
Cheers!

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new boat. The 2660 is a fine ride to Grand Bahamas. I know many people that have made the trip in one. As always, just watch the weather window. Not worth going in anything more than 2-3 because the Gulfstream can double the forecast. But if you do get caught in less than desirable conditions the 2660 will get you home.
