I have a 266 with twin 200 yammies. I had an engine failure about 20 miles out last year and it took a LONG time to get beck on one motor. So I was thinking I should get a prop with a lower pitch in case this happens again and swap it out on the good motor. Figuring if I could at least get on plane and maybe hit 20 knots it would be a vast improvment.
Any suggestions?

No suggestion but an excellent 🤔 thought.

Ken at Propgods.com might be your best bet for what prop to get.

It's a thought most have had one time or another.... Before you invest in an "emergency only" prop, I would suggest that you first asceratin that you "can" actually change out a prop 20 miles out in anything but flat ass calm conditions. Easier said than done by most of us out there. I'm not saying it can't be done but it looks easier on paper than in reality. Just sayin' Pete

X2. Wouldn't think of attempting to change props offshore, but I might have tried in my youth.

You and me both Richard, you and me both. I've been paying for the sins of my youth over the past few years. Some treated their body as a tabernacle; with me it was more like an amusement park and I'm truly paying the piper now. 12 surgeries to repair 1 shoulder, both wrists, both elbows and both knees. Yup getting older sucks and it ain't for pussies. Nope not me; I'll either limp home on one pony or it will be Sea Tow, Sea Tow, Sea Tow!
Speaking from experience; take time with your recovery and follow the directions of your Doc and physical therapist to the letter. Push it to early and you'll screw the pooch. Been there too... LOL! Pete

I hear you Pete, and fully understand. My list isn't as long as yours, but longer than I'd like. Same reasons - I thought I was indestructible in my teens, 20's and 30's.
And although I'm bored to tears, can't sleep worth a damn and see lots I need to get done, I'm taking it easy so I can get back on the water and get some fishing done this year.

The risks of changing out a prop offshore out way the potential benefits IMO.
If you insist, agree Ken at PropGods can certainly make a recommendation. Probably something in the 15p/17p range.

One for each engine, cause who knows which one will crap out on you? I'm assuming one is counter-rotating. God knows if I did taht and only had one prop, that would guarantee that's the motor that quit.....

I thought about carrying two spare props at one point getting a mount for them but the space they take up in the console was the biggest issue.
