Going out 10 miles is nothing to worry about on many days, but watch the wind as larger waves will make your travel slower and more dicey if it really kicks up. At a minimum I'd have GPS chartplotter and if you can, radar, as fog can come up quickly and can really be disorienting.
As for horsepower, I'd suggest you try out the 150 as it is first...depending on your conditions and how you like to run you may find it adequate for your needs and it might be a bit more economical to run than a sled with 50 or 100 more ponies. That said, I'm the first to admit that I've never been regretful of having more horsepower than required so if you decide to repower after a bit see what that hull is rated for and get as close to full rated power as your budget allows.
Good luck and share your experiences with this forum as you learn your boat!

The F150 was fine on my 218cc. Topped out about 37/38 mph. I'd imagine with the added weight it's going to struggle a but more. It wont be a speed demon but of you're ok with that it should prove to be a good platform
I'd suggest seeing if you can go on a test ride. Be straight up with the seller and let them know your concerns but would like to see how it performs.
