Is it just me or does a lot of shit go sideways seemingly all around the same time and at a time when you have other expected stuff/expenses going on? So I finally pulled the little boat out from under its cover to get it ready for the season, get the oils changed etc. Found the battery was dead and not revivable. New Odyssey battery - $400. She also needs to go in for bottom paint tomorrow - probably another $700. Trailer is going in for break service this week. Not sure what that's going to run but probably $500 (Everything seems to cost a min $500!) Well my son's car's dash lights decided it was time to lite up like a like a Christmas tree, used the OBD2 scanner, oxygen sensor that I cannot access without a lift and lot of time. So took it in to my local indy shop this week - $500 later it's all fixed up. And on top of it, the washing machine decided to shit the bed this week. I've been handy enough in the past to be able to fix it, but this one is a control board issue. In all fairness these are early model Neptune units, they have been worked hard and have been reliable for over a decade. Anyway, $2500 later new washer/dryer set ordered. Washer was delivered today. Guy installing it calls me over, says "You got a water leak" and points to my line coming off the main supply line leading to my water softener. $423 plumbing bill... All of this in span of a week. And right before we go on vacation at the end of July... Yea, yea I know first world problems! But good Lord, I need a break.

Holy shit you have a black cloud hanging over your head. I'm almost afraid to respond to this in case it shifts over my way. I hope the bleeding stops soon.

Sucks that it piles on at once but maybe you won’t have any issues the rest of the year. If health is good for the family well, that’s priceless.
In reference to your topic “when it rains it pours” I can truly relate. My wife has auto immune of the liver, then gets COVID in Feb, knee surgery in March, and diagnosed with breast cancer in May. Luckily a routine MRI in March they spotted the tumor. She Started chemo in June that will last to October. Then surgery followed by 6 weeks of daily radiation. With prayers answered she’ll be cancer free around the holidays. We thought 2021 was a shitty year but this year has no close competition. I just hope my family doesn’t get any more rain this year.

Hey fishnfool!! 3 WORDS FOR YOU
HANG IN THERE!!!
You mention 1st world problems. Well if we were in a 3rd world country then we wouldn't have boats to worry about.
You are right that when it rains, it pours!
You can always rename your boat "Morton Salt"
