Captains ~
I am reaching out for some guidance in the 3 Battery configuration on a 290.
I am very appreciative of your time and I hope you will be able to help me out. I am a little upside down with my battery wiring for my 2018-290 / 3 Battery set up. I am replacing the batteries and I I marked and tagged all of the previous cables but obviously I missed a couple. What brings me to you is that I originally replaced all of the batteries only to find after receiving low voltage alarms that I had a bad brand new battery. An AGM battery to boot. So, as I have stated I am a little upside down as you know what it takes to replace the 3 batteries in the 290! LOL
Thank you in advance!!
Here we go!!!
I have the batteries placed as below looking into the battery compartment:
#2(3) - #1(2) - House(1) To begin, IS THIS THE RIGHT SET UP for the batteries?
As per the charger test panel they are seen as 3 -2 -1
I have the main (RED +) & Main Ground (Black -) cables as well as the 3 pair of yellow and red and the other 3 pair of cables figured out and labeled. There is a small unit attached to the bulkhead that has 2 black but really (red +) connections. The cables are fully wrapped and protected in what I call plastic snakeskin covering from beginning to end. This snakeskin covering is black but the connections are red. There are only 2 of these. This is where I am a little lost. Which batteries do these get connected too?
What actually brought me to you is that when I connected all of my house battery wires I began hearing a clicking sound from the hull. I also have the 35 AMP breaker thrown too. Obviously I have something connected to HOUSE that shouldn't be there as I don't want to burn up a pump or anything and I surely don't want to start a fire so I completely disconnected everything.
Can you please assist by sending me any kind of proper wiring diagram for the 2018-290 / 3 battery configuration??
Sincerely Thank you so very much!!
I will try to attach some pics later.
