I saw this and after reading up on it I think it would be a good "second" fire extinguisher for a boat and a good primary extinguisher for the house. Only a second for the boat as the CG can't approve it yet due to no UL approval. Underwriters Laboratory can't approve it until they change the requirement for the type of container required. It's more expensive than a marine extinguisher, but it appears to be a better way to put out a fire, has no undesirable residue and sure easier to handle than a normal fire extinguisher in a fire situation. The gas is heavier than air and expands as it's used.
I've got a a haylon fire extinguisher for my lab and it will put out a fire, and possibly suffocate you. This is definitely an improvement over that and like haylon it shouldn't damage anything when used, and I'd still be breathing!

That's really cool. From what I'm reading, it can't be UL certified yet because it doesn't "look" like a fire extinguisher, even though the technology itself is already UL approved for fire suppression?
I can see myself having a few of these around the house and on the boat.
