As of right now the storm has Tampa in its sights which could bring unprecedented flooding to the area esp if the damn thing stalls out like they are predicting it could.

Friends of ours just moved to Naples this month, hoping it stays far enough off the coast to not do major damage.

Cape Coral here...the boat is on lift as high as I can get it, tied off with every line I own and made as secure as I can make it. Left the covers on for now based on predictions of the storm going well west of us and mostly causing heavy rain and storm surge flooding rather that extreme winds. If things look like the wind will be higher than currently expected, I can always take the covers off to keep them from shredding or flying away. Keeping fingers crossed at this point.

It's my understanding the last time a hurricane hit Fla was 2018. It's looking like this time it will make land fall. Stay safe.

Hope all goes well down there. I don't envy those having to evacuate. Did that once from the Outer Banks and it takes lots of patience, fuel and a plan for where you'll go.

Hope everything goes well for the people along the west coast of Florida. Expecting the hurricane to pass just enough west of us here in the keys to do minimal damage. The prep always is a pain. but better safe than sorry .Prayers to everyone out there . Rob

From the East Coast of Florida....Glad it skirted by the Keys...Twisted...I have and Aunt and Uncle in Naples close to I-75. So far they are ok. Just lost electricity before I made this post. Downtown Naples is flooded. Very sad, lots of cars underwater to the roof line. JerryK...I'm praying for you, and everyone in the line of the storm, but I see it's going right over your area. Be safe. I'm on the east coast and have a truck and a 10' utility trailer so please reach out if you need supplies, food, gas, whatever. I'd be happy to bring it over. I've been through every hurricane in Florida since 1992 including the four that hit in 2004. I have worked the shelters in every local storm since 2001. So I understand if your situation may need support and I'm just an e-mail away. Frances was only a Cat 3 but the bitch knocked out the power grid for some folks up to 4 weeks. It was miserable but everyone helped out those in need. It was really great to see the comradery for each other. I can still taste those MREs.

Thank you all for the concern, prayers, and offers of support before the storm is even passed. How awesome that makes me feel! We ended up evacuating and are on the east coast but still watching news and messages from neighbors who chose to stay behind. No electricity and I'm sure that will take days to resolve. Water in our canals is over the seawall but the last I heard it hadn't yet gotten into the buildings in our condo complex. That said, high tide is still a few hours away, more rain is coming, and the wind is shifting to aid higher surging. I did hear some boats were drifting loose off their lifts, but that would be my Sailfish because that puppy is attached solidly. Fingers remain crossed!

We lucked out here in the middle keys. Key West did not fair as well with major flooding. Hope everyone stays safe on the West coast of Florida as it contacts land around Ft Meyers.

Smart move evacuating and settling in on the east coast. If you're in Vero we should grab a beer. LOL. The slow moving storm is aggravating! Glad you're safe and praying for Knot Online.
