Season opened yesterday. Fished both yesterday and today getting some nice fish up to 21 inches. Would rather be tuna fishing but cold water has moved into the area. My last chance would involve trailering my boat to New Jersey and fishing the Hudson canyon. Hummmm. Anyone fishing that area looking for someone to share the expenses shoot me a PM I'm trying to get a trip or two before winter shuts us down.

Good job on the tog. At least you got to bend the pole. Not quite as large of bend as a tuna but you were fishing.

Hey Glen, you could do what several Tog fishermen do here: Get an underwater camera and video your catch. Really...Quite a few videos around the Triangle Wrecks offshore.
My problem with togs is where they are located and needing to relocate so often. I made the mistake of fishing by myself for togs around one of the islands on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Had my wreck anchor FIRMLY in the rocks and the tide and wind picked up. I couldn't get the zip ties to pop and must have spent a half hour trying to get my anchor back. Was sore the rest of the trip. Nothing like trying to get the boat up to the anchor, then getting swept back while trying to run forward and take up slack. Finally gave up, let all the rode out and curved around the rocks to free the anchor. Of course, then the zip ties popped great, but I was exhausted and went home.
Now, it's either find a buddy to fish with, or don't go tog fishing on the rocks! Haven't fished the wrecks yet as they're about 30 miles offshore, but after watching the videos it sure looks interesting and the lips are delicious I've heard, but haven't tried yet.

Hey Richard they sure are some ugly looking fish especially when they get five six seven pounds and up. Underwater videos I'll watch them to do it myself would never happen I have a hard enough time logging into the website. Lol I'm fortunate there's literally hundreds of rock structures within 3 Mi of my Marina it's just a Connecticut Shoreline.
