I go past this dock on my way in and out of my marina. Glad no one was hurt, but 3 boats lost. Video of fire too.

Curios as to the cause. Wonder if it was an onboarding charging/power system failure.
Not saying it was the cause but Ive stopped leaving my boat plugged in unsupervised .

Doubt with the boats sunk they'll ever post a cause, but if I hear of one I'll pass it along.

Nasty fire reminds me of my oil truck that caught fire in a customer's driveway a long time ago. Plastic and fiberglass burn very hot & very fast with a lot of black smoke. On a bright note if there is one it's coming to the end of the season

Yes back in the days but mechanic wired the heating motor direct and the harness got so hot it ignited inside the dash. within 5 minutes the entire cab was in flames over the power wires. I ran fast that day with 1800 gallons of fuel still in the truck.

That’s scary. We had an old sporty catch fire last year at our marina. It did a little damage to a buddy’s 54. Blistered the paint and some other damage.
