Just purchased a 24’ center console. It’s powered by twin 150s. Took the boat out once before putting it into the boatyard for some repairs and a paint job. It was purple…
The boat felt a little under powered. Anyone else running twin 150s who feels like this?

Welcome to the forum. You should probably look at the boat specs and see what is the maximum HP. I believe most 24' are 300HP. What year is your boat/engines?

Welcome aboard!!! That set up on motors should be perfect. May look at props.

No, not under powered, faster than most sea conditions will allow, also very fuel efficient. Welcome aboard

The engines have around 1400 hours on them. They run great. Not sure what the max HP rating is, I can check but honestly I don't care. Its more of a weight issue hanging off the transom than a HP issue. A pair of 200HP V6s would definitely do the trick but I think the weight will probably be too much. I plan to run these 150s until they die anyway. Im planning on looking into 4 blade props when the boat comes out of the paint booth.

What kind of top speed are you seeing at WOT?

More important than WOT speed, what is the WOT rpm? It should be near the top rpm rating for the motors when lightly loaded. Props can make a big difference on hole shot and top end. 4 blade props will bite the water better and will usually get you on plane sooner and hold plane at lower rpm, but even a 3 blade prop should work well if the pitch is correct and that you can tell by max rpm. Too much rpm or too little at WOT and you don't have the correct prop pitch. Otherwise it is like driving your car in the wrong gear.

Welcome. My 2660 has twin Yamaha 150's and I don't feel like it's underpowered... especially as finatic said, given sea conditions, I have plenty of speed/power IMO.
