I've been looking at the Garmin watches for a few months. My wife has an iWatch and she really likes it, but I just don't know if I need all that stuff on my wrist. I've had an Omega Seamaster for a decade and it's still in nice shape, but it could use a good refurb and a new bezel and band. I've been looking at the Garmin Marq watches. I like the fact that they can 'look' like an automatic, but might do some other cool things for the boat. From what I've read and seen, on the surface, there isn't a whole lot that appeals to me right off the bat. But, I am wondering if I might actually come to use some of the features. I'm not usually a big fan of technology, unless it is super simple to set up and I use it every day. I have a Nest system on my phone, and I love the thing. It started with one camera, and has grown to 5- and a doorbell, 3 thermostats, a deadbolt and 2 smoke detectors. I can also do things like control my Christmas lights on my phone. I'm wondering if the Garmin watch will grow on me like the Nest products.
Does anyone have one? Or has researched them? What features do you use, or can you see yourself using?

There are several Garmin Marq models. They all have different features. I assume that you are looking at the Marq Captain.
I have been wanting a Descend MK2 watch for a while. I love the on hand GPS features, and being able to integrate and track my dive tank consumption/status.
What I really admire about the Garmin watches is their battery life. My friend has Fenix 5 and it stays on for 20 days on a single charge. But once you turn on the GPS, it last only 8 hours. Still a hell of a lot better than any Apple watch.

Yes, I was looking at the captain model. I would have thought that it was app based, so all the watches can share a lot of the same software. Is that not the case? The battery life sounds promising.
