It was near 70 a few days ago. It's been a mild winter. I want to put the boat in! Hopefully this weather translates into mild winds this summer.

Going to be upper fifties to low sixties all week here. But long range is saying March will be ugly. We'll see.

As long as February doesn't end like this: Circus Snow. I ended up shoveling snow out of my attic where it had blown in from the eave vents. On one side of the house the snow drifted up to the roof. Only military vehicles were allowed on the roads and they picked up doctors and nurses to take them to the hospitals and return them home. My kids loved the snow, but I ended up painting almost all the ceilings in the house (snow melting in the attic) and replacing over 1/2 the insulation.
I realize for you guys in the north, that snow would be a regular event. But houses and roads down here aren't designed to handle any serious winter. My neighbor set his house on fire when he was using a torch to thaw his frozen pipes. Luckily it didn't spread and he only had to redo his bathroom and exterior wall.
Hoping the nice weather continues.

I thinking about a March date for putting the boat back in the water. I'm going to wait and see how the weather holds up.
As for us northerners winterizing--I've had my share of burst pipes. It's awful. Luckily we've been at home when it happens. I have since moved, but I eventually replaced some of the old pipes with PEX and wrapped some other trouble areas with pipe heating cable.

Here's how I see it. Warmer weather let's me get the boat ready for the season early this year. However really nothing to fish for until the end of May. So I'll take my boat to my club just to get it out of my driveway and let it sit on the trailer there. If by some chance this warm winter brings fish in early I'll be ready.🤞

Got out today for a short while and went to the 1st island on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. What a nice day. Upper 60's, winds from the south at 5-10 knots. When washing the boat another group just got in from Sea Bass fishing 42 miles offshore. All they caught were sharks. But on a day like today, even sharks would have been fun to catch, but I didn't have enough time to do any fishing.
