So I spent a bunch of time the past week or two doing a buff, polish, wax and ceramic spray treatment on my boat. Some areas had never been done before due to being unable to reach them while the boat is on it's lift. That has changed. I bought a section of scaffolding and used it balanced on the lift, the dock, and a ladder in the water next to my lift to get all sides. I even swung the boat into the lift backwards to get access to both sides since I only have a dock on the one side of the lift. It is so much easier with the boat on a trailer, but I only have a lift. Anyway, the hull looks great and now also sports a name on each side and matching registration numbers in white (first owner put black letters on a dark blue hull--not legal as it needs to be contrasting color to the hull). Now I'm ready to head out, and tomorrow we have guests coming to join us. I can't wait, she looks like a new boat again😀

Nice job she looks great! I wish I could get my blue hull to look like that again.

You can, but it takes some of that special grease...you know, elbow grease! Some areas near the backside on my boat were almost white with so much oxidation, so those areas I had to use more than one pass with the rubbing compound to bring it back to blue. I used 3M Super Duty rubbing compound and a Milwaukee buffer with a lambs wool wheel, followed by 3M Finesse-It II marine polish, and then Collinite paste wax and a spray of some ceramic spray stuff that I heard about on this forum (truthfully I'm not sure that the spray does much more in the protection department but it goes on easy and probably can't hurt).

Looking good. My boat is getting some gel coat touch up work done now. I had it tied up nicely for the storm, but the tides were so high that the whips weren't holding as tight as I would have liked. My dock was completely submerged and the lagoon was filling up almost to the top of the bulkhead. I had life jackets tied around the pilings to adsorb any wind gusts and all the fenders that I could tie, but the boat must have blown into a piling at just the right (wrong) angle. I got the tiniest of spider cracks. Since it's new, I decided that it was best to address it now since it would blend in better. I didn't really post about it because I know that a lot more people had a lot more damage.

Jerry the hull looks terrific. Like a brand new boat. Time to take her for a ride.

I have a real similar situation with my lift. Do you have any pics of the scaffolding setup? I was considering a floating dock that would double as a kayak launch/ Sailfish maintenance platform.

No photos, sorry. I bought an expandable scaffold 8 to 13 foot long x 14 inches wide at Home Depot for $264. Used large clamps to secure it to the lift, the dock, and sometimes to a 10 foot step ladder in the water at various locations to get access...it was at times a challenge but ultimately I was able to get it all.
