Hi,
I have a 2021 245 and lost the anchor this past fall - a tautog fishing problem. It originally came with 15 ft chain and 150 of rode with the Lewmar 700 windlass. In looking at a replacement I plan to get more chain/rode. I was thinking about 30 ft chain and maybe 200 of rode. Has anyone added this and had it fit ok in the locker?
Also I heard of folks using and alternate attachment scheme - so the anchor can be released when stuck. Has anyone used this? Does it work? What strength zip tie have you used?
Thanks for the support. I am counting the days till relaunch - 4/15.

I gotta do the reverso anchor tie-wrap modification one of these days...don't want to risk losing the anchor either. I have some super long super big diameter tie wraps and I figured one would be good for that task...only a really strong pull would break it, but once it let's loose the rear of the anchor would get the pull and hopefully come away.

I would think by the looks of my locker those should work. When tautog fishing I carry a wreck anchor with 3/8 rode and no chain. Even then I've had trouble popping the zip ties in certain conditions, but haven't lost it yet.
Since my anchoring is in 50' or less and only then in mild conditions I haven't worried about adding to the rode or chain. I'm guessing you're in deeper or rougher waters.
