Has anyone ever seen a weight rating for a CC or DC hard top? Can it support a man for access to service antenna/light/radar or to clean it? The CC top is a bit smaller but my DC top is a hard reach to get to the center part without actually climbing up on it.

You might try asking Aaron. I know I've put a lot of my weight on it when cleaning or waxing, but my feet were always on a ladder and I was 1/2 laying on the top. When waxing I can't get it behind the radar from the front nor completely reach it from the back. It's boatel stored so I don't worry about the small area I miss doing properly, but I do get wax on it, just can't buff it off very well.

It can easily hold you and a few other people. I installed a radar a VHF antenna and was up there a lot. My son has occasionally been up there for a better view.

Thanks Dave, good to know (and great photo too!).

No way I’d stand on my hardtop. It’s a 2009 center console but the fiberglass does not look all that thick. Maybe the 275 DC has a thicker surface and better supports. I guarantee if someone stood on mine it would crack.

I have been on mine yearly to wax. I try to make sure all my weight is centered above supports.

To put a cap to this topic, after reaching out to Sailfish a 2nd time requesting specs on the weight load of hardtops, Aaron came back with an answer. There is no "spec" per se, but he said that for occasional repairs or cleaning by a small to medium sized man there should be no issue with going up. Since I've put a few too many pounds on since my younger days that doesn't make me feel great about going on top of my boat hard top, but I suppose I could hire a kid to do it when needed, unless outtadblue wants to come over and do my polish and wax job for me.

I place a furniture blanket on the t-top and then a 4x3 piece of 1/4” plywood so my weight is spread out. I only weigh 215. Never had an issue

I do get my nephew to wax mine now. He is not smaller than me but I figure he will bounce better than me if something happens.

If I sent my kids up to clean the hardtop one time, then they would want to go up there all the time.

They won't if you train them that when they go up they have to do the wax job. One sure way to get them to avoid EVER going up there!

not with this new generation! They have justification for every bad choice/decision.

My kids are good. My son comes home from school, gets on his bike and finds a pickup basketball game at the park most days. He wants to get a job this summer to save for a car. My daughter does dance 5 days a week after school and is competing almost every weekend. She is putting in a lot of work. They both have great friend groups. I am very blessed.

That’s great to hear. Feel blessed as well. Both of my boys, 27 & 24 are employed, independently living on their own, have great work ethics, still call home for advice and for help when/if needed. I’m grateful they still seek our advice and know Mom and Dad are always a support system. As the song goes, the key is under the mat, and beer is always in the fridge. They are always welcome to use either.
