Well fish-n-fool knows how to get one to spend, lol So the only thing remaining to do are the belts. After looking at a few videos it looks like a straight forward D.I.Y. project. After talking with my friend who has the tools needed that I don't have tomorrow I'll order the Timing belts. Looking forward to learning more about my motors.

Did both of my F150's a few years back. Pretty straight forward. Main tip I can give is go slow and steady on the tensioner. There is a hydraulic valve underneath and it needs slow and steady pressure to roll it back to put a pin in (you can use a screw driver, drill bit another allen wrench) to keep it in place once you have pressure off. They are notorious for breaking where you put the allen wrench in if you go to fast, it made of pot metal and is not super strong. Hope this helps

Every get this done? How many hours do you have on your motors that you feel it needs to be done? Or just age? My 2006 F150’s have not had timing belts or harmonic balancers done. Approaching 1000 hrs. I’m guessing I got lucky on the balancers, one of those failing is my biggest concern. But motors sound the same as they’ve always sounded… though my hearing is not as good.

1k hrs I had mine done. It's recommended to inspect them at a 1k and replace if necessary. I just went ahead and did due to age of belts. They still looked good, but since it's an interference engine if they break, the motor goes boom. Peace of mind.
I think Glen just has his done too.

Yes sir last week had both belts replaced. Of course the old belts looked like new. But 1250 hours and 15 years old I think it was time. However I'm waiting on a new hydraulic tensioner the old one caused the belt to turn lower than I would like it to be.
