I made a solar pool heater. Materials, 1 sheet of plywood, a few 2x4s, roofing tar paper 500' of half inch plastic hose and a 1/4 horse Is submersible pump. Total cost $175. So the water temp at the bottom of the pool was 66° the water coming out the opposite end was 78°. It increased the water temperature by 12°. It will cycle about a 1000 gallon of water in a 10 hour day. I can now open the pool earlier and keep open later in the fall. Very pleased with the results.

Well done buddy! I always like uncommon ingenuity and creativity!
Can you devise something to help keep my pool cooler in the summer? Aside from some fountains or water jets, in southwest FL the pools get 92 degrees or higher in the summer. It isn't even refreshing😥

They make those too, not sure the cost. House going in down the street has one. In both heats and cools. Looks like an oversized heat pump.
